Working together on an inclusive KLM
At KLM, everyone performs best when they can be themselves. Diversity and inclusion are not separate projects. They are part of our daily work, part of how we collaborate and make decisions.
Our strength lies in differences. In backgrounds, ideas and experiences. At KLM, people of all ages work together: men, women and non-binary colleagues, each with their own background and identity. That diversity makes us better as an airline, for our employees and for our customers.
That mix is no coincidence. It is a conscious choice. Employees who feel welcome do their work better. You notice that directly in our service and in the experience of our passengers.
We realise we are not there yet. Inclusion is not an endpoint. It is work that is never finished. Every day we learn and grow, as individuals, as a team and as a company. By working together and giving each other space, we get better.
How we do this
Inclusion does not happen by itself. It requires people who take initiative, create space and strengthen each other.
At KLM we have 5 internal networks. Like-minded colleagues come together here, share experiences and actively contribute to a more inclusive working environment. Each network focuses on a different theme:
- Connection: colleagues recognise themselves in each other and find support
- Awareness: important themes are open for discussion
- Development: space to grow, learn and be visible
- Change: concrete impact on culture and collaboration
Together, these networks make inclusion visible and tangible throughout the organisation.
What this means for you
These networks make KLM more than a workplace. You are not only part of a team, but also part of an environment where your voice matters. You get space to grow in a way that suits you, to discover new perspectives and to actively contribute to change. You are seen. You belong.
For KLM it means we grow stronger as an organisation. Different perspectives lead to better ideas and sharper decisions. Collaboration becomes more effective because there is greater understanding of one another. And innovation gets space because people feel safe to speak up and try new things.
This is how we build a culture that is inclusive and future-proof, a culture where people want to stay and develop themselves.
Together we are building the future of aviation and a workplace where everyone is welcome. Read more about our networks via the element below.
