At Business Platform "Integral Planning & Control" (IP&C) within the "Data & Technology" (D&T) department, we are looking for an enthusiastic Business Product Analyst (BPA) to join our team that supports KLM Cityhopper (KLC) Crew and Fleet Planning business processes and tools. A pro-active communicator with a passion for aviation, who applies their analytical mindset and goes the extra mile to achieve results for our business stakeholders, while acting as the link between business and the cross-functional team across Hungary and the Netherlands.

What will you do?

A Business Product Analyst (BPA) supports the product team in achieving the maximum value potential by ensuring the product is built according to validated requirements, driving user adoption, and realizing change. The BPA can quickly understand the boundaries of a business domain and has meaningful discussions with subject matter experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • (Standby) Support: Maintain continuity of deployed products, support incident management, and assist with technical configurations, including standby duties
  • Test management: Perform integration testing and user acceptance testing
  • Business process change: Understand and document current business processes, identify inefficiencies, design new to-be processes, and support business changes.
  • Requirements gathering: Uncover user requirements, translate them into features, and support the Product Owner (PO) in prioritizing features.
  • Stakeholder management: communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
  • Data Management: proactively investigate data related issues such as integrations to support application operations

With the cross-functional team situated partially in the Netherlands and partially in Hungary, the BPA acts as the bridge to provide context and clarity to their direct colleagues.

Where do you land?

Due to the rapidly changing environment, KLM aims to become the most data- and technology-driven airline in the world. Changing our way of working, modernizing our technology stack and architecture, and correctly positioning people in this Data & Technology organization are crucial to achieving this ambition. Business Platforms form the core of the Data & Technology organization. They consist of product teams organized around business processes within KLM: Flight, Ground, Integral Planning & Control (IP&C), HR, and Safety Security & Crisis Management.

This vacancy is within the Business Platform IP&C. IP&C is responsible for developing flexible flight planning that allows us to fly where and when there is demand while balancing occupancy and reliability, meeting our network promises, and reducing non-performance costs.

You’ll be joining the team that supports KLM Cityhopper (KLC) Crew and Fleet Planning business processes and tools. In the coming years, KLC vendor managed applications will be updated with new Crew and Fleet Planning capabilities. The KLM scrum team provides functional support to maintain and improve the as-is product. The team also supports the transition towards the future application landscape. You will be conducting business stakeholder interviews and manage business requirements. The position also requires data-related skills. For example, you could be working on delivering API specifications, data mappings or SQL queries.

Your profile

  • A bachelor-level education
  • 4 years of experience as business analyst or technical business analyst
  • Data skills: Proven experience with SQL, and familiarity with the workings of API’s
  • Documentation skills: Perform documented, reliable analyses and structure requirements accordingly. Some experience in business process modelling is a pre.

Competencies

  • Pro-active mindset: Take the initiative to reach out and create (business) relationships where needed and have a pro-active and curious attitude
  • Analytical skills: Ability to quickly distinguish main issues from side issues.
  • Perseverance & result-oriented: Willingness to go the extra mile and achieve results.
  • Communication skills: Good social and communication skills to connect with all stakeholders and to form the bridge between the NL and HU based colleagues.

Furthermore, you must be willing to

  • Work from the office at least 3 days per week.
  • Take part in the rotating stand-by duty schedule, providing business support outside regular working hours including weekends when on duty.
