Internship Sustainability Cargo Project Manager
The world lies at your feet as an internship sustainability cargo project manager at KLM. Not only will you work on pivotal sustainability projects such as the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) program, but you will also be contributing to our Vision 2030 to lead the transformation towards a more sustainable airfreight industry. What will you do?
As an internship sustainability cargo project manager, you will play a significant role in shaping our sustainability agenda and commercial strategy. You'll focus on our SAF program and other innovative initiatives, gaining hands-on experience in project management and stakeholder collaboration. You'll develop and coordinate sustainability projects, support SAF offers, and assist in negotiations with key accounts. You'll also work with sales managers to improve the SAF sales process and streamline internal processes. Further:
- You will contribute to the development and coordination of the Cargo SAF program and our goSAF platform;
- You will support the creation of SAF offers and assist in preparing negotiations with key accounts;
- You will collaborate with local sales managers to improve the SAF sales process and provide necessary tools and training;
- You will enhance and streamline internal processes related to sustainability;
- You will develop training materials for the sales team focused on sustainability topics.
Where do you land?
You will be based at our Schiphol East office, within the vibrant TransPort Building, where you will work with the dynamic Cargo Sales & Distribution team. This team is diverse and energetic, bringing a variety of experiences to the table. You will report to and be mentored by the Commercial Sustainability Manager, benefiting from personalized coaching and professional development opportunities throughout the internship.
Your profile
You quickly identify where improvements can be made and communicate these effectively to stakeholders. You adapt effortlessly from one task to another, ensuring no detail is overlooked. You thrive in a team environment but can also work independently when needed. You embrace challenges and continuously seek ways to enhance processes and outcomes. You have experience in project management and an understanding of change management.
Further:
- You are pursuing a last year bachelor's or a master's degree student in sustainability, environmental science, business, or a related field.
- You have a strong interest in sustainability and the airfreight industry.
- You possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- You speak and write fluent English (optional: Dutch and/or French)
- You are available from September 2025 for 6 months.
- You are available to work 5 days a week.
- Ability to commute within 60 minutes to Schiphol Oost (ample public transport options and free parking available).
