Get on board for your next challenge as a Designer at KLM! You’ll collaborate with product teams on innovative digital solutions. Whether you’re researching user needs, creating new features, or improving existing interactions, you’ll have a direct impact on the employee experience. At KLM, you’ll have the opportunity to further develop your skills and contribute to the digital future of aviation.

What will you do?

From cabin crew to baggage handlers and from office staff to gate agents: as a Product Designer, your challenge is to ensure that all KLM employees can perform their jobs as effectively as possible - wherever they work. In this role, you connect with users to truly understand their processes and needs, and you improve the way they work with new ideas, concepts, and designs.

  • You conduct both quantitative and qualitative research to gain insights into the user experience.
  • You create prototypes and concepts that contribute to the development of new products and features.
  • You test and refine designs through user testing to ensure the solutions meet users’ needs.
  • You work closely with your team of business analysts and engineers toward the go-lives of your new products and enhancements.
  • You maintain a continuous feedback loop with users.

In the coming period, we will gradually transition from the existing MyKLM employee platform to ServiceNow technology. In this role, you will help shape that process and design the brand-new employee experience together with all stakeholders.

Where do you land?

You’ll become part of the Data & Technology Business Platform “People Technology & Intelligence”. Our platform is responsible for the entire digital employee experience, from recruitment to offboarding. With our products, we support all KLM employees and specifically our colleagues in HR, enabling them to work as efficiently and pleasantly as possible.

Our goal is to continuously improve our products and develop new, innovative solutions. As a Designer, you’ll work in one of twelve cross-functional product teams alongside business analysts and engineers. You’ll also collaborate closely with other Designers in our department, the Director of Product, and various stakeholders within and outside HR. In addition, you’ll be part of KLM’s broader Design community.

Your profile

You’re an enthusiastic Product Designer who loves to explore the complex world of KLM’s B2E services. You’re not afraid to be the voice of the user in a multi-disciplinary development team. You’re a curious and responsible person and you’ve got it in you to help us look at our digital landscape from a new point of view.

You also have:

  • 2-5 years of experience working on UX design projects applying a wide range of design processes, methodologies, and deliverables;
  • a bachelor's degree level in design or a related discipline, or equivalent professional design experience;
  • a passion to continuously improve the users’ experience;
  • the desire to develop a deep understanding of the users by observing and conducting various iterative user research methods;
  • the ability to come up with creative and innovative designs based on research and feedback from users and stakeholders;
  • a proven track record in collaborating with software engineers to implement your designs;
  • great communication and organizational skills and comfortably take ownership;
  • an open mind to critical feedback and the ability to reflect on your own work;
  • a positive and self-motivated attitude paired with impeccable problem-solving skills;
  • flexibility on using different tools and adjusting different methods based on projects, context, and stakeholders;
  • Extended knowledge of Figma design and prototyping;
  • Experience with using a design system, contribution and maintenance;
  • (Plus) Prior experience with ServiceNow (e.g., Employee Center/HRSD/UI Builder) or similar enterprise employee portals;
