Data Analytics Engineer ES

Tech & Data
40 hours

The world is at your feet as a data analytics engineer at KLM. You'll turn complex datasets into smart insights that help us optimize aircraft engine maintenance. Whether you're building diagnostic tools or creating predictive models, your work directly improves engine reliability and reduces costs. And you'll do it all in an environment where data and aviation innovation go hand in hand.

What will you do?

You translate large and complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that help our engineering teams work smarter. Whether you're building performance models, refining visualizations, or launching new analytics tools, you're constantly working at the intersection of data and technical expertise. On an average day, you’ll move from data exploration to stakeholder discussions—and finish by turning your findings into business value.

Further:• develop and implement analytics models that improve forecasting and decision-making;• create diagnostics and predictive tools based on gas turbine physics;• collaborate with engineering teams, research institutes and external partners;• develop visual dashboards and ensure high data quality through automation;• promote a data-driven culture across departments.

Where do you land?

You’ll be based at KLM’s Engineering department at Schiphol. You’ll join the Engine Services data team, working alongside experts in analytics, engineering, and modeling. This team is the technical brain behind our engine maintenance operations, helping improve performance and reliability for both KLM and external clients.

Your profile

You don’t just work with data—you turn it into decisions. You spot patterns that others miss, and you know how to translate technical results into real-world improvements. You're quick to grasp complex problems and even quicker to get to work solving them. You move easily between programming, physics-based modeling, and project management.

Additionally:• you have a master’s degree in a relevant technical field;• you have 3 to 7 years of experience in data science or analytics;• you are familiar with gas turbine theory and performance modeling;• you write Python and develop models for diagnostics or predictive maintenance;• you are fluent in English, both spoken and written.
