We’re looking for an ambitious and knowledgeable Business Analyst to join the KLM Digital Cargo Operations team and play a key role in the NCT project.

What will you do?

As a Business Analyst in the Logistic Handling Concept (LHC) Track, you will be responsible for further detailing the NCT Operational Concept, contributing to process installation development, the POC Program, and translating these into cargo handling processes, manuals, and policies. This includes impact assessment and defining business requirements.

Your focus will be on aligning processes and hardware to optimize the logistical flow of shipments through the new terminal. You'll collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, analyze business processes, and ensure project objectives align with strategic goals. This role bridges the gap between operations and technology, facilitating effective communication and driving successful project implementation.

As a Business Analyst Logistic Handling Concept (LHC) within the New Cargo Terminal (NCT) project, you will contribute to building and optimizing the logistical flow of shipments through the New Cargo Terminal, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of KLM Cargo's operations.

On top of that, you’ll find yourself working in an environment where planes taxi past your window, cargo rolls by, and innovation is in the air. With such a wide variety of roles, departments, and colleagues, KLM offers you the chance to exceed your own expectations — every single day.

Your tasks will include:

  • coordinating transversality content and priority wise within the Logistic Handling Concept track as well as beyond the track.
  • process analysis and management, focusing on detailing the Operational Concept and its North Star Processes (BPMN level 3-5).
  • detailing the Cargo-a-la-Carte concept and translating it to cargo handling processes, manuals and policies (incl. impact assessment and business requirements).
  • providing input from the NCT Logistical Handling Concept track to the POC Program and translate its outcomes and implications into actionable insights for optimizing the logistical processes and systems within the track.
  • designing solutions, focusing on the logistical (material) handling.
  • overseeing process installations and ensuring alignment with LHC suppliers and POC Program stakeholders.
  • determining the LHC requirements for a Digital Twin and providing input on simulation tools for business process analysis.
  • gathering assumptions required by the simulation track from a LHC perspective.
  • supporting Project Management, conducting testing and validation, and performing data analysis.

Where do you land?

You will join the Business Process Improvement (BPI) department within KLM Cargo Worldwide and become part of the Digital Cargo Operations team. In this role, you will work as part of a dedicated team delivering the New Cargo Terminal (NCT) project.

You'll collaborate closely with colleagues who share your passion for logistics, process optimization, and leveraging digital solutions to drive operational excellence. Your workplace will be the Cargo Building at Schiphol Center, placing you at the heart of KLM's air cargo operations.

Your profile

As a business analyst, you will take initiative by proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovation. You will adeptly collect and analyze information to address problems effectively, while managing stakeholders with keen organizational awareness. Demonstrating resilience, you will adapt to challenges and maintain a passion for continuous improvement. Your ability to provide direction and communicate complex ideas through storytelling will inspire and guide teams towards achieving strategic goals. You will act as a unifying force within the project team, fostering collaboration, strengthening relationships, and ensuring alignment across stakeholders and disciplines. By facilitating open communication and teamwork, you will enable the team to work effectively towards achieving project goals and delivering successful outcomes.
