We’re looking for an ambitious and knowledgeable Business Analyst to join the KLM Digital Cargo Operations team, where you'll play a key role in the NCT project. In this role, you will help transform operational concepts and IT visions into actionable strategies, contributing to KLM’s operational efficiency and the seamless execution of our flights.

What will you do?

As a business analyst on the New Cargo Terminal project, you are responsible for translating the operational concept and IT vision into actionable epics, features, business cases, and a comprehensive roadmap as part of the IT Fit and Gap analysis.

Your role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs, analyzing business processes, and ensuring that project objectives align with strategic goals. You play a critical role in bridging the gap between operations and technology, facilitating effective communication, and driving the successful implementation of the project.

As a Business Analyst IT, Data & Control (ITDC) on the New Cargo Terminal (NCT) project, you will transform operational concepts and IT visions into actionable strategies, enhancing KLM's operational efficiency and contributing to the seamless execution of our flights.

Your tasks will include:

  • you will translate the vision into high and mid-level IT and functional requirements, developing epics and features for the assigned scope of the New Cargo Terminal. Your work will cover detailed topics such as 360-piece level visibility, integral planning, zero-touch processes, industrial methods, and process enablement.
  • you will develop a business case for each epic to facilitate decision-making.
  • you will create a roadmap for the assigned scope, focusing on the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and future phases, albeit to a lesser extent.
  • you will participate in the Proof of Concept (POC) program and translate POC outcomes for the IT, data, and control track, aligning them with the overall operational concept and IT visions.
  • you will identify and document assumptions required by the simulation track from an IT, data, and control perspective.
  • you will support project management activities, conduct testing and validation, and perform data analys

Where do you land?

You will join the Business Process Improvement (BPI) department within KLM Cargo Worldwide and become part of the Digital Cargo Operations team. In this role, you will work as part of a dedicated team delivering the New Cargo Terminal (NCT) project.

You'll collaborate closely with colleagues who share your passion for logistics, process optimization, and leveraging digital solutions to drive operational excellence. Your workplace will be the Cargo Building at Schiphol Center, placing you at the heart of KLM's air cargo operations.

Your profile

In this role, you will demonstrate proactive initiative by actively seeking out opportunities for improvement and innovation. You will excel in gathering and analyzing information to drive problem-solving and effective decision-making. Your ability to manage stakeholders with strong organizational awareness will be key, as will your resilience in adapting to challenges. Additionally, you will effectively communicate complex ideas through storytelling, guiding and inspiring others towards continuous improvement.

In addition:

  • you demonstrate Bachelor’s or Master’s level thinking and working, preferably with a background in logistics or systems engineering.
  • have at least 3 years of experience in process optimization, project management, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) for process mapping and improvement.
