Flight KL691, made possible by you, our measurement specialist and inspector. You help us inspect our engines better, smarter, and faster using digital measuring tools. As a KLM team member, you contribute to unforgettable flights, no matter what your role is.

What will you do?

In the engine shop, you and your colleagues inspect aircraft engines: which parts are in good condition, and which ones need upgrading, repair, or replacement? It’s precision work, because an engine must be completely safe. In addition to visual inspections and manual measurements, you’ll also work with measurement machines, optical scopes, and other specialized tools. Some parts are harder to access that’s when you really get to shine! Together with our programmer and engineer, you’ll help come up with new ways to make the process even more efficient.

You’ll also:

  • work with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and 3D scanners;
  • contribute ideas on how to further digitize our engine shop;
  • support your colleagues in learning how to use new tools;
  • stay up to date on the latest developments in measurement technology;
  • handle the administrative processing of all actions taken.

Where do you land?

At the engine shop in Schiphol-East, working directly with a team of inspectors your closest colleagues. You’ll also frequently collaborate with other KLM teams, such as Repair, Engineering, Repair Development, Assembly, and Disassembly. At E&M Engine Services, we work in rotating shifts, including both day and evening shifts.

Your profile

Maybe you’ve got a technical degree from a vocational (MBO) program and know your way around tools. But even more important: you’re curious about how things work whether it’s an engine part or a brand-new measurement machine. If there’s something to learn, you’re all in. You’re full of ideas and bring contagious energy that gets your teammates inspired. Perfect, because your passion is working together to push our technology to the next level.

Additionally, you:

  • Have experience with measuring tools or are eager to learn;
  • Have a keen eye for detail;
  • Know that constructive feedback helps you grow;
  • Always put safety first;
  • Have a strong understanding of (technical) English.
