A century-old reputation

At 104 years old, KLM is the oldest airline in the world, and has a name to uphold when it comes to safety and quality. So, whether you're helping an AOG get back in the air safely or performing an A-check on one of our 787s, you'll always find an atmosphere where very serious and meticulous work is done.

Varied fleet

KLM's fleet consists of various narrow and wide body aircraft. With us, you can work on Boeings and Airbuses. We have the 737, 777 & 787 and the A330 for long haul. Soon we will be getting both the A320neo and A321neo and in time we expect the A350 to replace the last of the 747's.

What I like most about working at E&M? I learn something new every day! You really don't know what the day will bring. And of course, not to forget my colleagues! From the friendly lunches to the team outings, the atmosphere here is just great.

Learning every day

KLM Engineering & Maintenance handles the maintenance of our own fleet, as well as aircraft and aircraft parts for global customers. This gives you the chance to learn something new every day. An engine change and nose wheel inspection in the morning, and measuring a fuel temp sensor after lunch? This could be your next shift! And if you opt for KLM, you'll not get great colleagues, but also an enormous amount of knowledge.

Your development as an aircraft maintenance engineer

Suppose you can't get enough of learning, then there is plenty of room to step up. This can be both upwards and sideways: engine testing, an office job, Turnaround Lead (TLO), plant leader, part-time instructor, teaching at our internal school, sim engineering... There really are too many opportunities to mention.

Did you know that...

... KLM regularly carries out inspections of aircraft with drones.

... We are experimenting with self-operated tugs to move aircraft.

... We are working with XXL electric power banks for our power supply.

... We have no less than three hangars.

... In addition to the A, B, C, and line checks, we also perform heavy maintenance - such as engine changes.
