In the video below, current trainees describe their 'journey' within KLM.
Will this be one of your assignments?
Soft landing for the next generation of mechanics
Soon, a large group of E&M employees will reach retirement age. With their departure, a lot of valuable knowledge will also 'retire', for example of our sheet metal workers and construction specialists. As change lead, it is up to you to get this knowledge to the next generation of mechanics. In this way, you contribute to the continuity of crucial, complex processes. You also help the new kids find their way around the hangar. Challenging, because this needs to be done while keeping the operation up and running. You understand that keeping experienced colleagues from their work so they can teach the next generation, requires strong people skills!
Maintenance of the new LEAP engine
Introducing maintenance to a new product is a huge implementation. But one you can sink your teeth into. Take the maintenance of the new LEAP engine. Before the first nut can be loosened, all sorts of things need to be organised. Think about the roll-out of new working methods, coordination with the manufacturer or timely communication with all stakeholders. As a programme management officer, you stand alongside the programme manager in a team with different workflows. Instructive, because this way you will get to know both KLM E&M and Air France Industries, which will also take care of the maintenance of the LEAP engine. Up close, you will see both the commercial and industrial aspects of aircraft maintenance. Can you find your way around quickly? Be quick, because the first airlines are already lining up!
