Internship Software Engineering

During this internship you will be working closely with our software engineers and data scientist.
What will you do?

In onze afdeling Veiligheid, Beveiliging en Crisismanagement streven we er voortdurend naar om onze veiligheidsprotocollen en rapportagemechanismen te verbeteren. Om deze missie te ondersteunen, ontwikkelen we een geavanceerde veiligheidsrapportage-applicatie: See It, Say It, de interne veiligheidsrapportage-app van KLM, een essentieel hulpmiddel dat werknemers in staat stelt om proactief veiligheidsproblemen te melden en zo incidenten te helpen voorkomen voordat ze zich voordoen.
Where do you land?
Als stagiair software engineering bevind je je in het hart van een systeem dat een moderne backend-architectuur integreert met frontend interfaces en een innovatief NLP (Natural Language Processing) component dat helpt bij het analyseren en prioriteren van binnenkomende veiligheidsrapporten.
Je belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden zijn onder meer:
• Ontwikkelen en onderhouden van kern-backend-API-diensten voor een veiligheidsrapportage-applicatie, waarbij schaalbaarheid, beveiliging en betrouwbaarheid worden gewaarborgd met een Agile manier van werken.• Samenwerken met front-end teams om naadloze gebruikerservaringen te leveren op zowel web- als iOS-platforms.• Deelnemen aan ontwerp- en architectuurbesprekingen, waarbij je jouw backend-expertise inbrengt om toekomstige ontwikkelingen vorm te geven.• Verbeteren van CI/CD-pijplijnen voor geautomatiseerd testen en implementeren naar Azure Cloud, wat snelle, betrouwbare releases waarborgt.
Your profile
1. Currently pursuing a bachelor/master (HBO/WO) degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
2. Strong understanding of CI/CD ecosystems such as GitHub Actions
3. Knowledge on public cloud domains like Microsoft Azure or GCP
4. Strong programming skills in Java Spring, and preferably in Python
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
6. Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts
