Product Management

Product Management at KLM means defining the future of digital services. You set the vision and strategy of our products and connect business, innovation and tech in one roadmap.
Within Product Management it’s all about vision and execution. As a product manager or business analyst you operate at the intersection of technology and customer experience. You define the direction of digital products, translate customer needs into strategy and make sure our roadmap prepares aviation for the future. In doing so, you work closely with our in-house innovation labs and business stakeholders.
This is what it looks like
A clear example is the Onboard Portal, giving passengers access to wifi, entertainment and additional services during their flight. Used tens of thousands of times every day, it shows how product management aligns customer experience, technology and operations.
But the role goes far beyond maintaining existing products. In the story From analysis to action: how KLM enables robots to think for themselves, you can see how we explore the next step: robots that learn and act autonomously. Here, product management is not only about delivering features but also about setting the vision: what role can robotics play in our operations and how do we scale it responsibly?
Future readiness is another key aspect. In How Naela is making KLM’s IT systems future-proof, the focus is on renewing complex IT architectures, migrating to the cloud and integrating systems into a robust digital landscape. For product management, this means shaping roadmaps that enable innovation while ensuring stability for millions of travellers and colleagues.
Room to grow
In Product Management you work on products that are visible to passengers and strengthen operations behind the scenes. You will have the opportunity to experiment with AI, robotics and new digital interfaces, while also building stable, large-scale systems used worldwide. Training programmes, leadership development and international collaboration help you grow into strategic or senior roles.
Your role
As a product manager, you turn ideas into products that truly matter. You set the vision, gather feedback, collaborate with developers and stakeholders, and ensure that technology makes aviation smarter, safer and more customer-friendly. In doing so, you directly shape the future of KLM.
