SAP with Impact
The Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) department at KLM is looking for SAP consultants. E&M is responsible for the maintenance of aircraft, components, and engines for KLM as well as other airlines—crucial work for safe aviation. Our SAP implementations support a large part of all maintenance processes. As an SAP consultant, you are the link between IT and the business, translating the needs of E&M operations into technical solutions. From small tweaks and upgrades to entirely new systems: you make sure our mechanics, engineers, and warehouse staff can do their jobs quickly, efficiently, and safely.
Not Your Average SAP Environment
At KLM, SAP implementations are anything but standard. Our organization, including Air France, is large, complex, and demanding, which calls for top-level customization. Logistics, finance, and maintenance processes all come together here on a daily basis. We’re also in the middle of a major transition: from legacy systems to a single shared SAP environment for Air France-KLM. And the migration to S/4HANA is just around the corner. In short: plenty of challenges to sink your teeth into.
You work here at the intersection of IT and operations. That brings both challenge and impact—every single day.Clyde

A Day in the Life of an SAP Consultant at KLM
You start with a short daily stand-up: what is your team working on, and does anyone need help? After a cup of coffee, you have a meeting with a colleague from operations who wants a new feature for the warehouse management system. You brainstorm together, ask questions, and outline the possibilities within SAP. After lunch, you immediately get to work on the configuration, but for a specific part you enlist the help of a developer. They set you on the right track with some expert programming. At the end of the afternoon, you prepare a demo to present to the business tomorrow. You finish your day with a Teams call with your French colleagues about the integration between different systems. Satisfied, you close your laptop. Tomorrow will be a completely different day.
