Is this you? Hello Salesforce Application Architect!

Yes, we confirm that we are looking for a new colleague. Not just anyone. We would love to meet YOU if you have existing Salesforce experience and want to embark on a journey of becoming a Salesforce Architect.

At Air France-KLM, we are stretching the boundaries of what is possible with the Salesforce platform. 12+ Sales-, Service-, Platform- and Marketing Cloud orgs help us organize our flights, operations, maintenance, service, and internal communications. All tightly integrated with our back-end systems. 8500+ end users count on this platform to be fast and reliable. As this landscape is complex, we need a strong Salesforce application architect that helps our business and IT stakeholders make the right decisions.

When you step onboard, you will become part of a small team of expert Salesforce architects who collaborate closely with our architect community and the Salesforce teams in the business domains. The scope is the entire Air France–KLM Group.

What are you going to do?

The Salesforce Application Architect ensures proper implementation of Salesforce technology across 12+ Salesforce orgs spanning all our business units. Because of your experience, you understand stakeholder dynamics in a large company like ours. You manage stakeholders' interests, get things moving, and tip the scale. You can exert influence in realizing our IT goals and our (Salesforce-) IT strategy within a larger cloud strategy context.

As a Salesforce Application Architect, you are a member of the Salesforce Center of Excellence within Air France-KLM. The COE supports business and development teams with consultancy, training, and guidelines.

Your day-to-day activities include:

  • support Salesforce orgs/apps in optimizing and improving the platform
  • assist the business and IT stakeholders of orgs in Salesforce-related business challenges (Solution design, Architecture committee approvals, Solution reviews, pocs, licensing)
  • translate enterprise architecture in Salesforce guidance and policies
  • share new features, guidelines, and best practices on coding, development, release management, governance, and organization with the internal community

When you join our team of Salesforce architects, you:

  • Will be involved in Salesforce solutioning and architecture across 12+ Sales-, Service-, Experience-, Commerce-, and Marketing Clouds.
  • Experience the dynamics and challenges in Cargo, Engineering & Maintenance, and Passenger business.
  • You get the time and the experience to develop your Salesforce skills to Application architect level (maybe even to CTA, B2B, or B2C Solution architect if you have the ambition).
  • You get to do deep dives into new state-of-the-art solutions and share your ideas on this with your business stakeholders
  • Working in a strong network of 70+ Salesforce experts throughout KLM and Air France
  • Long-term personal growth and career opportunities
  • flexible working hours and the ability to work from home

Where do you land?

The Salesforce COE is part of Group Development in the Air France – KLM IT organization. When you step onboard, you will become part of a small team of expert Salesforce architects, who collaborate closely with the Enterprise Architects in the CIO Office and the Salesforce teams in the business domains.

AF/KLM Group is a large multinational company with IT locations in Paris (Roissy and Orly), Amsterdam, Toulouse, and Valbonne. Although online collaboration has become the default, you can travel if work demands it.

Your profile

The ideal candidates will have (a mix of) these characteristics:

  • Familiar with the Salesforce platform; either project experience, hands-on configuration, or development.
  • "IT-savvy": knows different IT technologies, how they are related, and their possibilities and limitations. Has a distinct opinion and vision on these technologies and can convey these to others. But also: Can listen to the ideas of others and adjust their (or your) vision when necessary.
  • Has the soft skills necessary to succeed in this role: advisory skills, persuasiveness, organizational- and multicultural awareness, and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships.
  • Has an architect mindset

We are looking for an application architect (functional architect / left side of the Salesforce architect pyramid). A broad experience in the Salesforce platform in at least Sales- or Service cloud will be a significant advantage and an accelerator of your skilling journey. Please note that we are not looking for a developer; we need a more functional profile.

This role requires organizational sensitivity and soft skills that enable you to keep all stakeholders aligned. You can be persuasive and sensitive to the needs of multiple stakeholders regardless of job level and background. You can achieve results independently and prepare difficult decisions for complex situations.

Next to this, you have:

  • an HBO or University degree or HBO/University level of skills and thinking acquired by training or experience;
  • existing Salesforce knowledge and experience
  • a sincere (and demonstrated) interest in IT Architecture and IT management processes,
  • ability to pitch, communicate and convince at Enterprise Architect and (E-)VP level
  • demonstrated ability to reach out to stakeholders, to connect, and maneuver across differences of (and possibly conflicting) interests
  • Experience in the dynamics of internal projects and managing vendors like Salesforce and implementation partners

We offer

  • A challenging role at an unique employer in the Netherlands
