What are you going to do?

As the ‘Commercial Sustainability Development Manager’, working together with your colleagues in Commercial Planning, in Sales, in Sustainability Offices and in many other departments, you are responsible for developing, executing and supporting commercial sales initiatives and propositions for sustainability. Our customers have an interest in and an expectation if it comes to sustainability and we have to respond to this and take it as an opportunity. Today we have set forward some pioneering initiatives in this context, like the AF/KL Corporate SAF program, and we need this to go forward and beyond. For this we need you to further develop and innovate customer propositions (main focus B2B / B2T), to support end execute activities for current programs, to grow and share know-how and to interact and connect with a variety of stakeholders in locals sales teams and throughout the airline and commercial organizations. Your opportunity is to grow your expertise on sustainability, translate this to our customers and make this happen together with a range of colleagues who are eager to make aviation more sustainable.  


Duties & Responsibilities

  • You develop, coordinate and animate the AF/KL Corporate SAF program with relevant stakeholders
  • You action and execute Corporate SAF program activities
  • You build, share and support colleagues with relevant sustainability know-how
  • You assess and follow industry practices and developments and take relevant initiatives
  • You support and innovate new commercial sales sustainability developments
  • You drive your passion and urgency for sustainability throughout the commercial sales organization
  • You participate in a range of platforms and meetings to coordinate and support the transversal focus and priority for sustainability


Where do you land?

You land in an international team that operates at the heart of the commercial organization from KLM’s head office in Amstelveen. You will work together with your direct colleagues in KLM and in Air France Headoffice. Commercial Planning is a joint team between Amstelveen and Paris, and from here you are in frequent contact with our sales teams all over the world, and our partners in the various central departments. Commercial Planning is a key interface between commercial revenue and sales teams and as such you can prepare yourself for a truly international partnership set-up. In our teams we speak French, Dutch and our common and business language is English. 


Your profile

  • You have an interest for and/or background in sustainability 
  • You have a bachelor or master degree
  • You are a connector: both conceptually (sustainability and commercial) and in people, you can bring together internal stakeholders to drive and coordinate action, development and results
  • You have an ambition to learn and further develop yourself in the commercial organization
  • You master the English language and any additional language is a plus
