Internship Repair Development Engineer at KLM Engine Services

Are you an outgoing and communicative individual looking for an engineering based internship opportunity? Do you have an interest of standardizing procedures and documenting processes? Are you fascinated by the world of gas turbine engines and enthusiastic to learn more about it? If so, we are looking for an intern to join our Repair Development Team at KLM Engine Services. You are going to have an administrative role within the team and be responsible to document and publish the procedures and instructions for repair industrialization efforts.

What will you do?

This internship offers you a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in documenting and standardizing Workplace instructions (WPIs) which is the term used to define internal KLM procedures. You will not only document the instructions, but have the chance to witness how they are implemented in the shop environment. You will work alongside a highly motivated and collaborative team that is committed to discover more effective ways of working. The procedures that you publish will not only enhance standardization but also help to improve efficiency within the organization.

Where do you land?

At KLM Engine Services at Schiphol-Oost. Engine Services is one of the three units within Engineering & Maintenance and focuses on the maintenance of engines and repairs of their components. The KLM Makerspace is a brand-new space within Engine Services where anyone can go to make things and experiment with robotics and AI. You will do an internship at the Repair Development department, a department that industrializes new repairs in the shop and tries to support you in optimizing repair processes.

Your profile

The following abilities apply to you:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at the HBO or higher level
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues
  • Detail-oriented and able to document procedures accurately
  • Proficient English communication skills
