Internship Aircraft Maintenance Program & Sustainability

32-40 hours

One of the tasks of KLM Engineering is, creating and maintaining the maintenance policy for the different fleets of KLM. While doing so various aspects are taken into account. E.g., Mandatory tasks, manufacturer recommendations, reliability, the environment and of course costs. All of these maintenance tasks need to be organized in such a way that an executable maintenance package can be created and performed in the hangars.

What will you do?

The aviation industry is actively working to reduce the environmental impact and improve sustainability.

One of the efforts within KLM to improve sustainability is the reduction of fuel consumption resulting in a lower CO2 release.

From a maintenance perspective we would like to optimize the Maintenance Program Tasks with maximum focus on Fuel consumption.

To ensure all useful areas related to Fuel burn reduction through accomplishment of scheduled, on-wing, Maintenance are reviewed. The available documentation and currently implemented maintenance tasks in the AMP’s should be compared.

After identification of the tasks a proposal to optimize these tasks must be created.

Where do you land?

You will land in Schiphol Oost as part of the Engineering Maintenance Program Team, a friendly team existing out of 20 people which are all willing to help and support you with your assignment.

Your profile

We are looking for someone (HBO Bachelor) who is familiar with the aviation concepts and likes to perform data analysis. Although we communicate in Dutch, all the documentation is written in English.
