Introduction

The aircraft maintenance division of Air France-KLM is a leading player within the industry. Besides maintaining our own fleet, we also maintain the aircraft, engines, and components of more than 150 customers. Are you ready to make our organization smarter with the help of Big Data, AI, and data analytics?

What are you going to do?

You will work at the crossroads between aircraft engineering, IT development and maintenance operation. Our aircraft and maintenance operation are generating increasingly more data. It is your job to extract value out of this data, and to develop business insights using next-generation analysis techniques and IT developments. This can range from planning optimization, stock predictions, predictive maintenance and much more.

As part of the Analytics Translators Team, you will be supporting the development of these tools and contributing to the advanced analytics transformation of KLM E&M (Engineering & Maintenance).

Your tasks will include (but are not limited to) business and product analysis, making sure that our development team has no issues working on the tickets you’ve created. This includes:

  • Being pro-active through engaging (key-)users on analytics and data-driven product development, over the entire process from ideation, proof of concept up until implementation and sustainment.
  • Being pro-active in working out tickets and requirements in enough detail for our development team
  • Developing analytics and data-driven products and processes
  • Scouting for new data-driven technologies and opportunities
  • Taking part in cross-functional, agile, development teams
  • Managing stakeholders on various levels in the organization

You will be playing a key role in the successful development and deployment into service of different advanced analytics applications, integrating them into the existing processes. In addition, you contribute to ideate, think along, develop, and implement the E&M Big Data strategy and vision.

Of course, you don’t do this alone, but you will work alongside a Product Owner and the Analytics Translator Team. Next door, there is our IT development team to help realize the data value.

Where do you land?

At KLM Engineering & Maintenance (E&M), you will become part of the innovative and energetic E&M Big Data team within the E&M Engineering organization, working alongside a product owner and analytics translator lead. Our products support a broad audience of engineers, planners, technical specialists, and management in their daily business. Our offices are located at Schiphol-East Technical Area, right in the middle of the aircraft maintenance operation.

Your profile

You have an MSc in a Technical field (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or similar)

You have at least 2 years of working experience and proven track recorded of business data analysis in an industrial context.

You have some years of experience working in data analytics and IT development and working Agile/SCRUM is the name of the game for you. You are a front-runner in innovation and are proactive and independent in using your excellent knowledge of data science and analytics to make KLM E&M a more data driven organization. You are goal-oriented, an analytic thinker, and English is no issue. Moreover, you enjoy working on multiple topics at once, and can easily switch between them. You won’t work alone on this challenge, so luckily you are a team player, and flexible.
